We're building the teams who will help shape the future of LabVIEW.
As part of NI’s open-source program, we’re forming small, focused Technical Steering Committees (SteerCos)
Each SteerCo brings together a handful of highly experienced contributors to help guide direction, architecture, and technical priorities for a specific feature. These include:
🧭 Legacy IP we aim to reclaim and revitalize (e.g., LINX, Robotics Module)
🚀 Successful open-source repos like LabVIEW gRPC that are ready to scale
🧩 Abandoned public repos we want to restart with community leadership
🔧 Core LabVIEW components or documentation that ship with the product (Icon Editor, Actor Framework, VI Documentation) — where LabVIEW R&D retains final authority and SteerCos support through aligned guidance
SteerCos aren’t about status—they’re about collaboration and accountability.
You’ll work closely with me as NI’s Open Source Program Manager, and where needed, I’ll interface directly with LabVIEW R&D to help get your questions answered.
✅ This is a volunteer role
✅ Open to both NI employees and external experts
✅ Best suited for those who already have deep, hands-on knowledge of the feature they want to represent
✅ Meetings are kept light and purposeful—typically weekly to monthly
📌 If you’ve ever felt ready to lead in the LabVIEW ecosystem—not just contribute—this is your opportunity.
