Signal Express 2015 stopped recognizing DAQ after I installed LabView2020

I've been using Signal Express 2015 with a cDAQ-9172 to take TC measurements on a 9211 card for the last few months.

When I use Signal Express it is no longer able to recognize that a DAQ is connected to my PC.

Is it possible that installing LabView2020 changed the way that Signal Express 2015 recognizes the DAQ? I believe the DAQ I have is old so the newest DAQmx drivers I can use are 17.5, anything newer than this and it stops recognizing the DAQ. Does LabView recognize that out of date drivers are installed and rewrite them to the newest version?

Has anyone ever heard of this or have any insight? I have no knowledge of LabView other than installing it so one of my coworkers can use it.

thankyou!

Hi,

Maybe because of the compatibility between NI-DAQmx and LabVIEW?

I found this KB (about last Supported in NI-DAQmx Version for some DAQ Devices and Modules)
https://www.ni.com/en-my/support/documentation/compatibility/17/devices-and-modules-no-longer-suppor...

and this KB (in this KB it mention LV 2020 only compatible to DAQmx 20.0)
https://www.ni.com/en-my/support/documentation/compatibility/16/ni-daqmx-and-labview-compatibility.h...

I've just figured it out. I was correct. Installing LabVIEW2020 installed the newest DAQ driver. I was able to see online that NI has an app called "NI Package Manager" and from there I was able to uninstall the new DAQ driver and install the correct version.

Thanks for your input thoug!

Hi Elliot, which version of the DAQmx driver was compatible with the signal express?
