Smearing in text indicators when mouse scrolling (broken redraw?)

Wow, thanks, you are right, I see the same thing in 2019 - it works in focus! Maybe I will try this or else maybe just turn off wheel scrolling completely.

It seems that the problem is related to transparent backgrounds.  I think it is very infrequent that people need to color a control background transparent, which is why you've never noticed before.

Ahhh, that makes sense then.  I started with the Example VI and just kept replacing the text box to try the other control versions so the color scheme was the same.
