Want to install LabView 7.0, NI-DAQmx 7.0, and LabView CVI 6.0

Originally installed in this order:

1)      NI-DAQmx 7.0

2)      LabView 7.0

3)      LabView CVI 6.0

DAQmx drivers can’t be located now by my LabView applications.

I’ll have uninstall and start again.  What loading order should I try?

When I start using some NI USB devices I’ll need NI-DAQmx 8.0 which will leave my CVI 6.0 behind

Looks like I'll be busy uninstalling and installing software.

DAQmx should always be last so it can see what's installed and install the appropriate drivers and support. Because DAQmx supports so many different NI application environments, it only installs what is needed by default. It shouldn't matter between LabVIEW and LabWindows which one is first.

You should be able just to re-run the DAQmx installation now and it will install what's needed. Right now, you probably just have the OS level drivers installed and no application support.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

You should install device drivers (i.e. DAQmx) after you install your development programs. Even though CVI 6.0 does not support DAQmx, you can still install traditional NI-DAQ. I think the latest version of traditional DAQ is 7.4.1 though of course, you're correct, you will not have support for the newest DAQ devices.

p.s. It's not LabVIEW CVI 6.0, it's LabWindows/CVI 6.0

Thank you! Re-running the DAQmx installation took care of the problem
