Sound Card as DAC

Greetings Gentleman;

So, i was wondering if it is possible to use the Integrated sound card of a motherboard as a DAC for a program i have.

The program just makes some "noise" signal elaborated under certain parameters.

What i need is that, using LabVIEW and the DAC of the sound card, i can generate the signal i made to see it in the Oscilloscope.

I have a Lenovo G31T-LM motherboard, which makes the Integrated Audio card a : Realtek ALC662-High Definition sound.

Is it possible ?, any ideas ?.

King regards,

Stgo.

Look in the Graphics & Sound->Sound->Output palette.  There are VIs there that will let you output waveforms using the sound card.

You could also look in the LabVIEW Examples (Help->Find Examples) and do a search for Sound Player.vi.  It is a decent example to get you started.

Thank you, i have found this VI´s and with the examples i have configured something that runs.

Now, i dont know how could i be sure that the sound card is actually working and generating the output.

Do you have any idea of how could i try this ?, i would like to see a waveform in my oscilloscope, but i dont have a TRS, Coaxial cable done ... not yet at least.

Is there any other way?.

Kind regards,

Stgo.

You could use a scope probe on an audio cable that is plugged into your sound card.

Wow, that is true. Thanks.

I actually have a number in the probe. The probe shows a single "13" after the Audiooutput Write. And Before this, a "14".

I dont know what they actually mean, but i think i am receiving a signal. Could it be it ?.

Added Shift register, both are "15" now.

Kind Regards,
