IMO, it's not really ready for prime time. BUT, I also know that this is the future of LabVIEW, so we have to try to shape its destiny right now. That is why I am trying to use it, at least at home, to get used to it.

HI
I checked in NXG 5 and the make current value default also works on complete arrays with different values.
If you either select the outer border or (if visible) the index you can select make current value default and it will not change the values in the array anymore. So acting exactly as in current gen LabVIEW.

I misunderstood what you meant originally Albert, sorry.
Now I've got it: drop an empty array onto the Panel, size it with the number of elements I need, enter values for those elements, when done right-click the array and select "Make current values default", save, exit NXG, restart NXG and it has remembered the values.
This answers my original query and gives me a static query, so thanks for persevering!

I did mention that a few messages ago, but called it an "ugly idea", even though I didn't detail just how to do it. I think i deserve at least kudos. 😉

Was that that what you were saying?? 🙂 I didn't get it then either: I hadn't made the connection between entering values AND THEN setting array to default until the later clarification.
You deserve kudos for coming up with a better solution for my problem though.

I'm actually just glad you have a solution that works. 🙂
