Subsystem Usage

I was playing around with LabVIEW when I somehow made a program document that was called a "Subsystem."  For the most part, it looked like a blank VI, but the blockdiagram color was a different color automatically and the title for the new something was "Subsystem 1 Front Panel."  The only other difference I found was that the navigation window option (under the Window submenu) was disabled.  Does anyone know what a Subsystem is?

Hi,
It think you are talking about the LabVIEW Simulation Toolkit.
A subsystem is similar to a SubVI (or a subsystem in Simulink (Matlab)) with the exception that a subsystem is only available within a simulation loop.
