Suggestions for monitoring run times and tachometer RPM

Can someone please recommend which Modula and equipment I should use to monitor how long a unit runs and speed RPM, I have NI cDAQ-9174 and a CRio. I am looking at monitoring up to 60 units at a time.

Hello

-          What kind of signal are we going to obtain from this tachometer? Are they pulses? If they are pulses that you need to count you need a digital input counter timer module. Now how many signals do you need to connect?

-          These are DI modules for cRIO o cDAQ: 9421, 9422 or 9423.

-          Do you need extra functionality in this module?

Regards

Without any additional information, I would recommend the NI 9232.  This is our universal vibration and tachometer input module.  It is an analog input, and using the Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite Order Analysis VIs, you can quickly obtain speed and the time instances of the pulses.

Let me clarify some, currently I use a Shimpo stroboscope model DT-311A to monitor speed and manually write down the rpms. I also I do not want to open any of the units up to splice into wiring. I've seen several different companies offer "sensors/tachometers" but I am looking for equipment I can incorporate with my NicDAQ-9174 or cRIO. I was hoping to use the speed monitoring of every second to tell me how long the units run and and what the speeds are during the whole run times. Because of the large number of units, 60 plus, I need to keep $$ down.
