Switching sound card properties with a .vi

By this I mean the volume control properties which are selected for the
various inputs ie microphone, line in etc
How can I change these from LabVIEW?

Thanks this is interesting stuff but how do I mute/unmute say the line input and select (unmute) the microphone say?
