System Exec.vi and standard output

Hello all,

I am using "System Exec.vi" to execute a network connection (net use ...) during startup of a LV application.
"standard output" and "standard error" are used for popup messages. Running the proram on an english Win version all is fine.
But on an german Win version I will see some unexpected characters instead of the german "umlauts" (Is this translation correct? That was the only translation I found for "Umlaute", sorry). Does anyone have a trick to setup this VI for german "special characters" ?

Hi!

I think, easiest way to do this - replace incorrect characters by pattern. For example, u umlaut (in "für") coming from standart output as "\81". You can see your incorrect characters in "\" coded display more clearly.
Other way - playing with Windows code pages, but I'm not sure about this. See screenshot in attachment, please.
