There could be hidden controls or indicators that are preventing the tab control from being made smaller.  Is Auto Grow ticked?

Sorry

I tried positing this a few times and it didn't post the text i had written

What i meant to say was that i have a vi (see attachments) that is split into 2 panes with the lower pane containin a tab control, which in return contains an active x object (web browser) that opens the Doc2.txt (used just as an example).  I have applied the scale objects with pane and scale objects while resizing to the lower pane as well as locking the origin to the top and left.  I would now like to resize this pane but keep the same positon and proportions between the pane, tab control and the browser.  However as I resize the lower pane, not only does it not keep the same porportions but the position of the broweser and the tab change as well.

I have been having constant troubles with the active x object (web browser) alot when resizing my vi during run mode as it seems to spontaneously change size and position.

any help

thanks

Hi Reza,

Could you explain a little more about what you mean? I am able to resize the front panel window, the pane, as well as the web browser in the pane. I'd like to help you out if you could clarify exactly what you're looking for a little. Thanks!

Hi Amanda

The problem I have is not that i am not able to resize the tabcontrol and the web browser wioth the pane, but that I would like to resize them during the run mode or even in the edit more but still have them stay proportional and in the same position in the pane.

To explain in more detail I have the top of the tab control aligned with the splitter bar in the lower pane.  As I increase the size of the pane then the size of the tab control increases as well but it is no longer aligned at the top.  Same thing happens if i shrink the pane, and the only way to get it aligned again is if i change the pane back to its original size.  Now these minor movements are not that big of a deal with minor sze changes, but its when i considerably shrink the pane and then increase it again that the tab control and the web browser lose all poportionality with tmeselves and the pane they had before.  I have solved this issue to some degree by adding a "minimum size" property to the pane (not in the test.vi but in my own vi) but I was wondering if I might have missed something or there is soemthing else i need to look at.

And about the web browser, I don't know what it is but sometimes it just jumps around.  I tried it on the test.vi and coudn't replicate it but in my own vi when In edit mode it is in one positon but when I run the vi (with the window appearance as dialog) then it jumps up (not a huge jump but a noticeable one), in that it is no longer enclosed in the tabcontrol.  Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't and I was wondering whether it is a common problem or just on my pc.

Hope this clarifies it

Hi Reza,

Unfortunately, the workaround you have discovered the is the best option to use. Also, I would suggest choosing a size for the pane that you will use throughout the program and resize the window to fit this. You can submit a product suggestion by going to ni.com, Contact NI, and give us Feedback for this issue.

Thanks and have a great day!
