Tektronix TDS3034B

I'm attempting to access my Tektronix TDS3034B through its ethernet port using VISA calls.  The TDS3034B user manual says that I must use the Tektronix VISA in order to access the device, however, I am able to access it  using NI-VISA only (I haven't installed Tektronix VISA).  But, I can't see the device in the VISA Interactive control window.  Do need to use NI-VISA to access this device, or should I install Tek-VISA and use it?  And, if I use Tek-VISA, is there any use for NI-VISA?

You should be able to use NI-VISA in conjunction with the intrument drivers which you can download here:

If you are using ethernet to access the device, you'll probably need its IP address.  The VISA resource name field will resemble something like this "TCPIP::192.168.1.12::INSTR".
