Thanks for providing all of that info (it may come in handy later), but I still need to know if your computer ID is chaninging when you disconnect it from the net. You mention that the ID is P8BF-CK9X-LFDY-L5TF. I assume that is the ID when you are connected. What is it when you are disconnected? If it does change (and since you seem to be under a timline) go ahead and email NI at the address I provided before (assuming you've purchased the support package.) Thanks!
My computer has 1 Ethernet card and built in
Ethernet.
I was using the built in Ethernet to communicate to the web and
the "CARD" to talk to my equipment.
Apparently when I disconnected the
cable from the built in unit it did more than it "removed it" from the system
some how., and I got the temp license notice.
I swapped the usage of the
two Ethernet units, so that the Ethernet card now communicates to the web
and the internal card talks to my equipment.
Hi there.. I have the same issue with a HP (Compaq) nc8340.
THe problem seems to be that this machine disables its ethernet card when you disconnect a physical network. (NI you may wish to add to the knowledgebase). I found this post that seems to suggest that the problem can be resolved by getting an activation code based on hard disk volume number. Not sure if this would fix how the computer ID is generated though (have not tried the fix). I noticed my ID is different when I have the physical network connected and when I don't. Note , however that enabling or disabling the wireless interface did not have any impact on the ID.
