Thermocouple Data from a TDX-50 terminal block connected to a pxi-2530 switch in a pxi-1033 chassis

What I’m trying to do is get labview to record the temperatures of each thermocouple I plug in. I’m new to labview and data acquisition with equipment like this.  So it is possible I’m doing things completely wrong. I’ll tell you what I’ve done and maybe you can help.

I tried the labview example program: niSwitch Thermocouple Measurements.  After adjusting the front panel to read the right slot, etc. I received the error message “Device was not recognized”.

I tried writing my own code: I have a NI-DMM/Switch Express VI which under the configuration tab says it is configured for PXI1Slot3 (PXI-4070) which I have, but am not using for this. Under the Switching tab I added the PXI1Slot4 (2530/1-wire 128x1 Mux) to the Switch devices, and /PXI1Slot4/ch-0->com0; (through ch-8).  I can create a table from the output of the NI-DMM/Switch Express and get values between 8.1E-5 and 1.48E-4 depending on with channel it is reading. The values vary a little for each record, but aren’t affected by if a thermocouple is plugged in or not, so I’m assuming the values are coming from somewhere else or that I’m just doing things completely wrong.

Does anyone have code suggestions to fix my problem?

Thanks,

Caitlin

Caitlin,

I responded to your email.  Can you let me know if those connections worked?  If so, I'd like to post them here so that we can use this as a reference.
