Hello!

I am having a 72-hour dataset. In addition, I am also having a couple of small time intervals (that lies inside the 72-hour dataset). I was wondering if it was possible to represent the whole dataset by, i.e., a long, green bar, where my time intervals is marked by red? I have attached an image in order to illustrate what I want.

Greetings

Hi Kristoffer,

"I was wondering if it was possible to represent the whole dataset by, i.e., a long, green bar,"

Instead of just wondering you might check the FP element palettes to look for suitable items... Smiley Wink

Just to provide a start:

Use a horizontal slider bar. Add more than one slider. Color the intervals between the sliders at your needs...

Like in this example:

Hehe, well, I haven't hust been wondering, I have been trying as well!;)

I have been thinking of using the sliders myself as well, but haven't come up with anything useful so far. How do you suggest using the sliders to represent the 72-hour dataset?

Edit: Maybe I haven't been clear enough, but the time intervals that I want to represent is not statical, they are dynamic and might change from execution to execution!

Hi Kristoffer,

"How do you suggest using the sliders to represent the 72-hour dataset?"

In my picture above you have to replace the 0-10 x scale with your 72h range. Then the two sliders will mark the start and end of your time range inside your 72h data set. Quite easy to understand...

Ok, I understand what I have to do to connect my 72-hour dataset now, I just need to figure out how I do it!;)

But, could you just quickly explain how to make that second colour? Seems like I only manage to get one fill colour, and not change the unfilled one between the sliders..

Hi Kristoffer,

you're asking questions here for more than just one day. You should have learned by now to try a right-click on any interesting item in LabVIEW...

Ever read through the different options that a right-click on a slider bar frontpanel element offers? The options regarding the coloring could be interesting...

Best regards,
GerdW

Yes, but I am obviously not asking questions because I am to lazy to investigate it myself. If I ask a question, it is because if haven't been able to figure it out myself. As is the case here, as I have not been able to get the slider work as a graphical representation of the timeline.
