Trigger and gate - stop trigger question

I am using ver 8.2 - trigger and Gate vi

Is there any way set the "stop trigger" in the trigger and gate.vi to be a boolean data type instead of a threshold or specified # of samples? Essentually I have a pulse "true" signal coming in and would like to stop the trigger so my data can be released.

I have been inside the subtrigger vi but I cant seem to find a way. Any suggestions or any other ways to do this problem?

Hello,

I have read your post, and I am not exactly sure about what you are trying to do.  I am not familiar with a VI called 'trigger and gate'.  What driver and hardware are you trying to use?  If you are just starting an application and you are using DAQmx supported piece of hardware there are many examples inside NI Example Finder that show how to perform a reference (stop) trigger.  You can find this in Example finder under the Browse tab in the hardware input and output >> NI-DAQmx section.

There is also a good online document that describes how to program DAQmx with LabVIEW here.  It discusses many topics including how to trigger.

If this information does not help, can you please post back more information on your setup (i.e. are you using LabVIEW, what hardware are you using, what driver and version, and what type of task(analog, digital, counter) are you trying to perform).

I am also having difficulty with the 'Trigger and Gate' Express VI (LabVIEW 2010).  I want to start capturing data on a rising signal level (that I need to be able to manipulate from the front panel) and to then stop capturing data on a particular signal level (again that I can manipulate from the front panel).

When I look at the 'Trigger and Gate' VI the threshold values can only be set in integer increments (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4....) however I need to set my trigger level to say 10.5 or 0.43.  I cannot see how this can be realised so if anyone can assist it would be appreciated.

Bunny,

You are responding to a 4 year old thread. Better to start a new Question.

Lucither,

I cannot see anywhere where I can start a new thread???  Thus the reason why I took the closest thread to the query I have.
