Hi Patrick,
We've been a bit busy but have finally found some more time to look into your issue.
I mentioned we were able to recreate the problem; the way we did this was pretty artificial though, so we are still trying to understand how you were able to get into this state.
Can you think of anything that might possibly be unusual or different from most users about the way you edit your statecharts? If you would be comfortable posting it, your LabVIEW.ini file (generally at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\LabVIEW.ini) might prove helpful.
Or if you would rather send it privately or discuss any of this in private, let me know, and we can have you contact our support team so that we can exchange email addresses (without having to post them here on the forum).
What is happening is somehow some of your statechart state nodes are getting into a funny state where they are constantly trying to resize hidden parts anytime you do anything. We'd like to understand how you get in this state so we can identify how to avoid it.
In the meantime, if you delete the state that is in a funny state, things seem to resume normalcy. It isn't readily apparent to the user which state is messed up, but when we debug what is going on we can identify them. For example, in your vending machine example, if you delete the "Cool" state, the constant movement of nodes to the left seems to stop.
Thanks,
Nick
