Trying to add an eds file to Verstand / Labview

Hi,

New to the LabView / Veristand environment. I am trying to create a project and add the eds file of a linear actuator to LabView. I wonder how to set it up and where to upload the file.

Best,

Are you using Veristand or do you use LabVIEW?

Which version do you use?

Do you use a LabVIEW project? You can "add" all kind of files to LabVIEW projects…

An EDS file typically describes the communcation parameters for a device, I used them with CANopen devices. Do you have any CAN hardware connected? Do you have any CAN drivers installed (in LabVIEW)? (You may replace the words "CAN"/"CANopen" with any communication bus you like to.)

Please describe your setup with much more details!

Best regards,

Hi Gerd,

Thanks for the reply. I am in the early setup phase of the project and is trying things out. I am using cRIO9012 controller +cRIO 9112 chassis with NI 9881 CAN Open Module, to control a CanOpen linear actuator. The actuator is currently not wired to the controller, I am just trying to setup the cRIO and NI9881 module. I am deciding between LabView and VeriStand. Ideally, would go with VeriStand.  This is the software / drivers I have right now (was trying out the online LabView trial, that's why I asked about it).

Would love to hop on a call to learn about this if that could be the best use of your time. Lmk

Best,

Scout
