Turn Express VI into code

I was wondering if there is a way to turn an express VI (Trigger and Gate) I have in the program into code to create variables of the properties etc.... I would assume there is but I can not find the option.

If you right-click on the express VI and select "Open Front Panel" you'll get a dialog box asking if you want to convert it to a standard VI. Not very intuitive, I would agree.

their is an option:

press right mouse button => open front panel => convert
