Absolutely! We are doing "Time-lapse" photography by acquiring PNGs at the rate of a few Hz to one every second or two. It takes, oh, less than 100 milliseconds, I'd estimate, to take and save a PNG with IMAQdx. We can then use the IMAQdx functions to read each of our PNGs back and write them back out as a 30 fps AVI which we can watch as a "speeded-up movie".
I have a student working on a Project who had some LabVIEW experience, but had never done anything with LabVIEW Vision. It took her a few hours (looking at some of the NI Examples) to code up the AVI-maker.

Yea it looks like it could be a powerful asset. We'll see how the budget is looking and may be lucky.
Cheers,
Mark.

Good luck. Another virtue to the Vision Acquisition Software is there is a lot of Experience here in the Forums ...
