USB devices and DAQ control

Is it possible to control external usb hardware with a NI USB 6008 DAQ?

If the external USB device has Digital or Analog I/0 it is very easy to connect those to a USB 6008.  But if you are trying to connect a USB cable to a 6008? Well there just is no place to plug it in!
