Unable to open file

The power went off while I was editing a VI.
When I try to open the VI now, I get a program error: process has already exited .... and LabVIEW crashes.
Is there any way to access this VI at the point where I last saved it?

One thing to try is to open a new VI, then place the problem VI on the block diagram. Then double click on the VI to edit. This will get around some problems if your VI is set to run when opened. Good luck.

This is a good thing to try. If you're able to open it in this manner, I would copy all of the VI's on to a new, blank VI to help alleviate any problems in the future. Let us know if this solution does not work for you.

No that did not work - as soon as I click to place the VI's icon on my diagram, LabVIEW crashes.
Labview must somehow alter the file when it opens it, rather than using a temporary file.
