Here is a list of devices that you can talk to using NI Industrial and Automation OPC server. http://www.ni.com/opc/opcservers.htm
If you hardware is list here then you can use NI IA OPC server to talk to the hardware and use LabVIEW as an OPC client. If not, then you will have to find a 3rd party company that makes OPC servers for your hardware and then use LabVIEW as a generic OPC client. Hope this helps. Have a great day!
