Hiii, Ray

How are you? hey, i am in somewhat doubt....

As we are concateating the numeric number after the file name,i dont want numeric values or any of the operators or extra characters like - , or _ etc. in the file name so i want to check the string of the file name for there must be only string character into the file name string, then how should i check that? please suggest me some method for that.

Thanks,

Nishant

Hi Nishant,

Sorry, I had not noticed your question earlier...

If I understand correctly, you want the filename to be purely alpha numeric, is that correct?
Example:

Good:  filename0001.xls

Bad:    filename_0001.xls
Bad:    file-name-0001.xls

However, I'm not sure what you mean by : "i dont want numeric values or any of the operators or extra characters like - , or _ etc. in the file name"

So does that mean that the filenames do not have numeric values?
Therefore:

Bad:  filename0001.xls

If that is the case, then how would you create distinct names which are incremented?  Using letters maybe?

Can you clarify?  Also, is this for the same topic as what was discussed earlier in this thread?

Thanks,

Ray
