Usb voice missing in MAX

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to interface a M833 monochromator with my pc using labview. My system is actualy running

LabView 2010 sp1

MAX 5.0

NI-serial 3.8.1

NI-VISA 5.1

on Windows XP.

Opening the device manager my instrument shown (it's a plug and play device, and works good with factory softaware, so I think that drivers are ok).

In MAX in Devices and Interfaces are only listed:

-Network devices

-PXI

-Serial and parallel

What can I do to have usb voice in devices and interfaces in Max?

Thanks, uge

Hi uge026,

Since your  M833 monochromator is not a NI Device and DAQ compatible,it cannot be listed in NI MAX.

What does voice have to do with your instrument?

If the product is the one shown at http://solarls.eu/products/2/16/25.html, then contact the vendor for the mentioned LabVIEW driver.

Thanks for the answer,

is it possible anyway interfacing my instrument with labview even if is not present in MAX ?

I've got drivers from vendor ! Vendor's program (in labview) doesen't work, i thought because the instrument was not indexed in MAX ...

any idea ?

best regards

You have to provide more information. What do you mean the vendor's program does not work? Error code/message that you get? Does the vendor provide a separate program and does that work? How exactly is the device listed in Windows device manager?

Without having the device or driver, the best place to solve any problems is with the vendor.

The vendor provide windows drivers and a separate program and that works fine. Addictionally, vendor provides a test program and a library of control functions written in labview. Softwares in labview seems to be ok (no error messages are provided), but the instrument do not respond to labview-given commands.

I thought to a labview communication error, since vendor separate software works.

In the device manager, the instrument is listed as "stepper motor driver" (dunno why 3 times ... )
