Use of LabVIEW6.1 runtime

My problem is the use of LabVIEW files, programmed with LabVIEW6.1. These files should be transferred to another PC and should run with a LabVIEW runtime version.
Is it necessary to create .exe files to run them? Standart LabVIEW-files can't be run on the System.

Thanks a lot

Yes, you have to compile the vis to .exe (under windows) in order to be
able to use them with the runtime.
..vi's can only be run with the developement-version...

You can download the current runtime engine from ni.com. Install it on the PC that you are running on. Or you can create a exe that has no code, just a blank vi compiled into an exe and under the installer options you can include the runtime engine to be installed. Hope this helps.

Cheaper???

do you mean that you can't compile your vi's?

Well, if I whant to compile my VI's I need a compiler. Hope I'm right. And this compiler is no freeware. So I have to get a compiler if I want to run my VI's with the LabVIEW runtime.

That's what I thought of.
