Using LabView to read data from Smar system

Hi,

I am doing my project now. I use smar system302 to read the data from fieldbus i/o (which was done) and use LabView to read the data from smar system302. However, when I am using Server Explorer 2.4.1 to search for the smar in the network (I use a hub to connect 3 systems together: LabView, smar and FF), the error comes out like "Cannot connect to the \\abcd. make sure that the computer is on the network, has remote administration enabled, and that both computers are running in the remote registry network". But I can ping abcd from my LabView computer. And also, when I tried to configure the NI OPC server, I could not find the SMAR driver. I hardly find any information about this. Pls help me. What do I really need to configure for LabView to be able to read data from smar system? Thanks a lot.

If you take LV out of the equation and use a third party OPC server explorer, e.g. Matrikon made. It seems that your DCOM settings are not set correctly. It doesn't seem to be a LV problem because Server Explorer is not LV.

May I know how and what to change in the DCOM settings?

I think now is the time to read up on DCOM, OPC. Search around for similiar issues on the WWW. It also depends on your network architecture. All the machines need correct DCOM settings.

I tried dcomcnfg and change the user setting of the OPC server, but it still cannot work. Maybe I search around and see how. Thx
