VI able to run while error exists

I have an error because a global variable is not defined, but the VI is still able to run.

Interesting, is there anything funny about this VI? Did you upgrade it from a much older version of LabVIEW?

If you hold Ctrl and press the run arrow, does the VI become broken?

Interesting, but that is a local and not a global (notice the house and not the globe).  Doesn't explain the behavior.

Attach the VI that is doing this so others can try it out!

Right, local, sorry.

Unfortunately, when I tried to select an object for the local variable to link to, LV crashed.

Next time when I opened the VI it showed the error correctly.

It was a VI developed few days ago, think I saved it initially with the error, I don't remember, LV 2016, so I think it's not very important.
