VI logger hangs during data acquisition

I am using VI logger to log data from a PCI-6013 card. Everything has been working perfectly until yesterday when the real time data screen stopped scrolling about 4/5 seconds into an 8 minute task (using start and stop time acquisition conditions). The program hasn't crashed, I can still move around the screens and the task still stops at the correct time, but I only have 4/5 seconds worth of data. I tried checking the device using the test panel but I get the error message 'The device is not responding to the first IRQ level'. If I ignore the message I can get to the test panel and the signals seem to be fine. I don't know if these two problems are connected. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Hi Sophie,

Do you have any idea if there was anything that could have caused this to occur? What I mean is... you said that it was working fine... was there any software installed that we may be able to correlate with this strange behavior? Also, which DAQ driver are you using? Traditional DAQ? You can find the version in Measurement and Automation Explorer under the software folder. It may be worth doing a repair on your driver and even on VI Logger. You can repair these installations by opening the Windows control panel, selecting Add and Remove Programs > National Instruments Software. Click on Change and then select to repair the driver and VI Logger.

I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Hi Garrett,

We eventually managed to track down the cause of the problem - the DAQ board was not properly secured in the PC and was only barely connected. I think if we had seen no signal at all we would have looked at the board connections sooner but strangely the signal itself always seemed fine!

Thanks anyway for your help

Sophie
