VI running very slow in a new PC

Another thought, is there any difference in the antivirus/firewall software installed on the computers? I have seen both effecively slow down disk accesses.

Both PCs have different antivirus. The older PC haseset nod 32 and the new has windows defender that comes with windows 8.1. I've already tried with windows defender and firewall turned off but it still has the same problem.

I've noticed that only the nimxs.exe processes are being limited, the other processes don't have any problems accessing the disk.

Crazy thought: What happens if you unplug the network cable?

Have you tried mass compiling or force compiling (ctrl+run) the VI's, or are you running a compiled .exe?

I'm connected through wifi, and if I disconnect my wifi connection I don't receive any data from the PLCs and I don't register anything on any of the databases. So the VI runs fast in that situation and the disk usage stays at 0% most of the time.

I already tried to mass compile and the log didn't gave me any warnings and it continues with the same problem. Trying to force compile didn't change anything either.

Hi, I know that this is a really old post, but I was wondering if you found any solutions to this problem.

I am currently going through the exact same problem and I cannot find solutions anywhere.

Hi,

That was a long time ago indeed!

I never found a solution for it. I just used the PC where I didn't have that problem.

I don't have that code anymore or those PCs anymore. It was for an academic project and I didn't have much LV experience at the time. Now I'm a LV developer with a CLD certification and I can tell you that my code wasn't that good! But it was working! Haha

I remember that I was writing a lot of data to the Citadel database in the same VI using multiple write functions. That wasn't obviously the best way to do it. But what was strange was that the performance was so different between the PCs and the PC with better specs was the one with those issues.

Are you also writing data to a Citadel database?
