Hi,
I have a machine which is abroad, and on a slow network connection. I am trying to install the OpenG libraries (from here: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/nid/209027) via the recomended route of VIPM, and for reasons I can only attribute to a slow network connection or messing about from the IT department, VIPM is unable to connect to the internet. (I am logged on via Dameware, so it can't be that bad!)
Anyway, my question:
My idea was to transfer the packages from my well behaved laptop (in the UK), via the internal company network (which is working fine), to the badly behaved machine (in Italy), then install via the Open Packages option in VIPM.
I found this thread: http://lavag.org/topic/16470-is-there-a-guide-to-installing-openg-without-using-vi-package-manager/
I can't see any JKI related files in the locations pointed out!
Then I found this thread: http://support.jki.net/entries/20625761-How-do-I-transfer-packages-with-VIPM-to-a-non-networked-comp...
I only have the free version of VIPM which came with LV2013.
When using the 'Alternate Download' option here: http://www.ni.com/gate/gb/GB_EVALTLKTOPENG/US I only get one 'OpenG Toolkit' file, and not all of the dependent packages.
OpenG.org is down. I have no idea what to do with all the things on the Sourceforge page. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/opengtoolkit/files/)

So where did you find the entire OpenG .vip ? I have LV2013 SP1 on a computer that has no internet connection and I would like to load the OpenG on it. To do so I need the .vip file to use VIPM.

There is no VIP file for all OpenG packages. But you can select multiple packages to be installed in VIPM. Go to the directory mentioned above, then search for "oglib*.vip". This will list all OpenG packages, copy them all to a folder somewhere on a thumb drive to be moved to your PC that is offline. Run VIPM and go to File >> Open Package File(s). In this window select all of your packages to be installed.
Alternativly if you have the professional VIPM version you can make VI Package Configurations. Which is a collection of packages in a single file. Internally we have a bunch of packages, and we use OpenG. So I made a VIPC file that includes all of our internal reuse, and OpenG, and several others in the Tools Network in a single file and can double click it and install on an offline PC.

Thanks for the info Hooovahh. I'm presently downloading the different tools from source forge and installing on the stand alone computer. The NI website link to the OpenG toolkit just opens a blank tab in Chrome. I looked at the repository on Lava and couldn't find any OpenG packages. The OpenG website is down.
I finally got my disks for LV 2013 SP1 and I'm sure glad they included VIPM in the package. Finally get to use some of the new features of LV.
