VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed.

I hope i don't get sue because copy right issue . I will capture the page later, the book title is Hands on Introduction to LabView by John Essick (even he give an example using 33 s for time out ). Anyway, i tried your vi and its not working either. Still get same error. I think my device doesn't understand command either because i tried it also using test panel and vi still not working tho.

Nb: currently my phone is dead so later i will capture it.

again timeout != delay.

here is a user manual for the device:

https://www.ujaen.es/departamentos/ingele/sites/departamento_ingele/files/uploads/medidor%20de%20lum...

page 38: describes usage with their software

page 36: describes how to use the device with a printer. You won't be using a printer but i'm sure you can extract data you need all the same, just use settings described there.

Can't find english user manual for the software T-A30, so i can't tell you what commands are accepted.

EDIT:

found the T-A30 user manual

Hi Gabess,

Ah, ok.

That old book talkes about voltage measurements using an Agilent34401 with certain settings. And it talkes about reading 100 voltage samples - and that's why it calculates a time of ~33s to read 100 samples at 20NPLC for a 60Hz power supply…

  • Why do you think yoou need to follow this calculation?
  • Do you want to read 100 samples?
  • Does your device some AutoZeroing for each sample? (Well, you could switch off that feature for most DMMs I came across!)
  • Does your device need 10NPLC to read one sample? (Most SCPI-capable DMMs allow to configure the NPLC parameter…)
Best regards,
GerdW

Hi gerad,

1. I thought it was necessary to have that equation besides that i read other forum adding long time delay will be helpful for reading( which means i put 250s). Also, i thought when we using visa the procedure should be same isnt it ?

2. I think really want to communicate first with the device but in the future i would sampling the data per minutes .

3.it seems i read the manual and try the device Its not auto zero when he read luminance it will read continuously.

4.Im not sure about this, I will try to contact about the vendor about this related information . But the vendor said only mention that he has 150 NLPC
