VISA resource name

    Hello,

I am trying to communicate with a serial connected
data logger. He is on COM 1 port, what VISA resource
name should I put in the VISA box and with what
format (string, ... ?)

Hi,
I am sorry but I have more problems.
For all the vis I downloaded from the example finder
or from the thread shown above I get the same error
message as when I worked on my own (putting a random
VISA resource name). I attached it.

The error code means that you don't have NI-VISA installed. It is on the driver's CD.

Is that the normal installation CD ?

Drivers CDs. You have a set of CDs with all of the hardware drivers like DAQmx, NI-GPIB, NI-VISA, etc. You could also go to http://www.ni.com/support/ and download it.
