VIs with conventional programming languages??

Hi , just assuming myself if there is any possibility of building a vi using traditional programming languages.

Can we write any program in C or assembly language and make it as a NI supported vi like any other normal vi?? B'coz this level of coding is very compact and guess NI also would be doing some kind of this to develop various supported functions and VIs.

Is it feasible???

NO. But you can call code written in C as a DLL in any LabVIEW VI using the Call Library Function node.

What version of LV are you using?

As you said, LV coding is very compact, thats why people LoVe LV. Smiley Wink

I think you re a beginner in LV. Please go thro' the LV help manual to understand more of it & its power.

It is a lot easier than C in saying & doing things. Smiley Happy

ver 8.5

Actually, I am referring to C,assembly languages not LV.

I get that you are pointing about shared libraries(dll etc) and CIN, am looking for the possibility of building own vi itself using those c, assembly codes.

Thanks for your time.

If you haven't already, take a look at LabWindows/CVI. Same front panel user interface controls with ANSI C programming.

Did you notice that you can write small programs, such as the one attached as an example, using the Formula node ?
You can also imbed MathLab scripts or their LabVIEW equivalent MathScript in similar text nodes.
And I discovered very recently that SciLab, a powerfull, popular and freeeeee programming language has been opened a gateway into LabVIEW.
Isn't that what you are looking for ?
