Version management support for Full Development system

The version managment feature is implemented in the Developer Suite only. In our company, we use just one Developer Suite in order to create compiled versions of on program. This version is only needed once, in case of a huge program. All programmers need just the features to use version management tools in order to fullfill documented program development. But these can use the Full Development version of LV, which is the case in our company. Thus, this version needs the support of version management tools.

I talk about version management tools which enables software developers to save every change on a file in a database. It also locks files, which are currently being modified by one developer. These are also called version control software or revision control software.

Here is also a link to the corresponding Wikipedia article

It is true that LabVIEW supports direct interfacing to SCC only in professional edition.

Nevertheless, you can/should use SCC even if not working with PDS (Professional Developement System). The disadvantage is that you have to interface with your SCC using the SCCs client or Windows Explorer.....

hope this helps,

Norbert

Search the forum for "version control" or "svn" or "cvs", or "scc". You'll find lots of hits, as this topic has come up dozens of times and has been discussed at great length.
