Very basic counter problem - measuring frequency, error 200141

Hello there,

I am new to using counters and have a problem which I would be delighted if you could help with.

I want to measure the acceleration of a shaft from standstill to a running speed of ~5000rpm.  I have a 6024E pcmcia daq card and I'm using counter 0.  My signal is coming from a Keyence laser tacho that I've used before.

I just need to capture the first 5 seconds of start up but I want as much detail as possible.  At the moment I have set up the shaft to give one pulse per rev but I'd like to later up this to 8/rev.

I have attached a copy of the (8.2) vi.  It is very basic.  However, I keep getting error 200141:

Measurements: Data was overwritten before it could be read by the system.
If Data Transfer Mechanism is Interrupts, try using DMA. Otherwise, divide the input signal before taking the measurement.

I'm only able to capture 5-15 samples before this error pops up.  I am completely stuck and was wondering if anybody could help me out, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much in advance,

Martin

For anyone else...It seems that my problem is that the card I have does not support DMA.

Thanks,

Martin
