Vi Freezes upon Trying to Edit or Select

Solved!
Go to solution

I am trying to edit a VI. Upon trying to delete or select a command with I/O Assistant 1 (the first write command) the computer freezes. Everytime I try to delete this command or commands below it the computer freezes. It seems to be a software bug. I have tried deleting the I/O Assistant and starting from scratch but I don't have enough skill yet in VI writing to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have any problems deleting in the VI, neither wit LV 7.0 nor LV 8.6.1. This could be a result of my multi LV machine having a newer DDL or driver the I/O Assistant is using.

Do you see a red rectangle encapsulating your vi? You have to remove the break point. You can also copy the whole code and create a new vi if you arew not able to clear it

Hello Muks,

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, that won't help as this problem might recur again and I am just wasting time if I have to start the vi from scratch. I would like to get to the bottom of why the vi freezes when I try to edit or delete a command.

Hello Muks,

Unfortunately i am only using LabView 7 and the file won't load.

What did you want to show me.

He just removed the breakpoint on exit of the VI. Unfortunatly he saved it in the wrong version.

The I/O Assistant is using NI-VISA.  You can check for newer drivers on the Drivers and Update page.
