Vision Acquisition Express must be launched from LabVIEW

Hi,

I am trying to run a code which uses the vision acquisition express VI and get the attached error message when double clicking on the block - a window enabling you to change camera parameters should pop up at this stage. The same error comes up when selecting the same block in a blank VI. There is not a problem with the code as it works on 3 other computers I have tried, seems to be specific to my computer, but have uninstalled then reinstalled LabVIEW and the problem still persists - any ideas of other things to try?

Many thanks!

Well, you could attach your VI (instead of pictures of part of your VI) so we could try it and see if we have the same problem, then look to see why ...

Does the machine where the software fails have the Vision Licenses installed?

Hi Katie,

Have you installed the correct vision acquisition software?

Could you provide us an NI Max report of you PC?

Attached is the VI. I believe the correct licences are installed as all other aspects of vision are functioning correctly.

This is a somewhat complex VI, and the notes on the Front Panel sound like you are planning on making it even more complex ("More cameras").

So what happens if you "simplify", i.e. write some code that uses a single camera and does the first few steps of acquiring and tracking objects?  Does it work?  As you add in more stuff, is there a place where it "breaks"?

It is just the vision acquisition express block that has the issue. Even starting a blank VI and putting in this block alone and double clicking gives the same error message. The code isn't the issue as it works on other computers - seems to be something specific to my computer.

Have you tried uninstalling Vision Acquisition Software and reinstalled that?  If so, have you used the KB for forced reinstalling NI software?

Yes tried reinstalling but this didn't solve the issue.

And have you confirmed that you have a valid Vision license?

There is a difference between using the Vision driver vi's and the Vision Module vi's, like the express vi that you are using.
