We are trying to install Labview on a Vista machine

here are couple problems we encounter, this is our first install on Vista, should we be using a different  Reg Number?  On the second effort  it did not even install.

From what little I know of Vista (which isn't much), my understanding is that error code 1316 is typically (though not always) caused by a botched previous installation of something. Basically, the Windows Installer database (if one can actually call it that) got screwed up, and it preventing the second installation attempt from working. If that's the cause, then the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility can be used to clear out the entry for LabVIEW from the Windows Installer database.

Don't know what caused the first error, though.

I can't help with Vista but my browse security settings are blocking your image. Just attach them and not link to some server someplace.

FYI - I fixed the images in the first post.

Thanks,

Hi,

As stated by SMercurio, error 1316 is indeed due a corrupt previous installation. I would advise you to use the MSI Blast Cleanup utility to remove all traces of your former installations and then do a fresh installation. Please refer to the attachments for the reinstall prodcedure and the MSI-Blast utility. Hope this helps.
