W11 - LabVIEW compatibility

In my experience Xilinx ISE doesn't work under Windows 11. For any older FPGA projects I'm having to use Windows 10

We had a similar problem at a customer ... (i just realized it's not that similar) ... In our case it proved to be a bug in LV2018 so we had to downgrade to 2016 to get correct FPGA compilation. That was on W10 though.

While NI tends to do the mandatory version change circus on a yearly schedule or more, many third party manufacturers tend to try to point you at drivers on some obscure download server that were released shortly after Windows 95 was the hottest kid on the block. Both extremes are not very convenient for a developer and utterly difficult for end users.

Ironically the driver in question is for an instrument from an company (NHR) that NI bought several years ago. I had high hopes that the LabVIEW support for these instruments that was abysmal at best would be improved by NI along with updating the driver whose last release was for Windows XP.

But instead of fixing it, NI decide to obsolete the instruments and have no plans for updating the driver. Now our ATE systems are frozen on Windows 10 for the foreseeable future.

That acquisition wasn't about their products at all but purely their strategic market share in EV technology.

Yeah, my company's 3.91 billion USD Market capitalization is just too small of potatoes for NHR to want our business.
