Do you run any kind of personal firewall software?

Hey ioannis!

Have you made sure that the Web Server is on?  Here is a KB that describes what seems like your issue.  Repost if not!

Hope this helps!

hello and thanks for the response!

I don't run a firewall on my pc. There is a firewall for the LAN though. Any chance that the firewall is causing the problem?

Thanks again..

Well guys i had some progress. i disabled all the ie's proxies and instead of having the "invalid server ip address" message i get "client does not have access to specified VI".
I modified the browser access tab under tools>>options>>... but nothing changed.

Any ideas? thanks in advance for your time.

after a lot of trial and error i managed to publish the vi. From the web publishing tool window i managed to preview the vi and then to see it from the ie. but:
when i close the web publishing window i get an internal server error, when i have it active everything is ok!.
detail: i installed the run time engine on the remote pc. same thing happens when the web publish window is active on the host pc the remote pc is viewing the vi. when the window is closed it gets the internal server error. what is funny is that the remote pc asked for re-installation of the run tim,e engine.
HELP !!!!

Hey ioannis,

So I would recommend starting from scratch on this one and seeing if we can get things to work.  I would recommend following these steps:

  1. Make sure that you have access to port 80, which is what LabVIEW and the Web Server uses for communication.  This might mean turning off virus checkers or firewalls, as Altenbach suggested.
  2. Restart your computer.  This is to make sure that there isn't anything already accessing this port that is conflicting.
  3. Start LabVIEW once the computer is back up.
  4. Open the VI that you would like to publish.  I might recommend using an Example just to test, but you could use your program.
  5. Select Tools » Web Publishing Tool (WPT).
  6. On the bottom of the WPT window, press the Start Web Server button.
  7. Configure your VI as you would like.  You can probably just use the defaults for now.
  8. Select Save to Disk and replace the file if necessary.
  9. Hightlight the address that comes up in the Document URL window and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
  10. Open Internet Explorer and past the URL into the address bar on the development computer.

These steps should be all that is necessary to use the WPT, so please follow them and let me know if they help or not.

Thanks!
Andy F.

Can u specify how u make to see it from the ie? I have encountered the same problem as you.

After I used Web Publishing Tool, I can see it from the small preview window. But when i click on " Preview in Browser ", IE said " cannot display the webpage".

If I try to open the source html file directly, the "invalid server ip address" problem still exists.

Anyone can help?

Thank you
