Waveformgraph error?

On some occassions when continuously streaming data to my Waveformgraph, the graph with go white in color with a red X.  What is happening here.  It only happens sometimes even though nothing has changed as far as settings, sampling rate, etc.  I have to restart my program when this happens.  What is the root cause of this error?  Also, if the error does happen, is there a work around to clear it programmatically from my UI or am I stuck with having to restart my program?

I am coding it in .NET but I figured I could get an answer faster from this forum, as I've seen this happen before in lab class using LabView.
