I'd like to second the complaint here that the NNTP side of things is rendered so ugly--really difficult to read--by the presence of HTML tags that should be easy to strip during the syncing process. Perhaps this problem could be revisited now?
Here is a
recent example (Google Groups) of a post that got synced over to comp.lang.labview. Now, I would probably drop the matter of NNTP entirely if it weren't for the fact that Google Groups is likely to popularize and extend the utility of NNTP for some time to come. From NI's perspective, I would think the NNTP feed is a great way to extend the visibility of these forums beyond the ni.com Web site and solve a large number of problems in a passive manner.
At the very least, NI should ask their vendor to strip the line break (<br>) tags from the sync text. Even if all other HTML were passed through as it currently is, the stripping of those line breaks would make a huge improvement in readability on the NNTP side of things.
My two cents,
John
