What can I do to open a vi created in 8.2.1 in LabView 8.0?

I have a vi that I created at school (Drexel). However, the school uses LabVIEW 8.2.1. I own LabVIEW as well, but I own version 8.0. The vi I created is very complicated and VERY time consuming. Is there anything I can do to retrieve these files? When I try to run the vi, it says that it will not run because the vi is a newer version than my current platform. Is there something I can download to fix this? or am I hopeless?

You can post the VI and all subVIs and ask if someone can convert it for you. Anyone with 8.2 or higher can do a save for previous version.

You could also download the 8.5 evaluation and do the conversion yourself.

Next time you work on your VI at school, you should use "save for previous version" and put it all on your memorystick or CD (or whatever) before continuing to work at home. 🙂
