What happens when PXI 8106 goes "over temperature"

Hi guys, I am trying to test a part of my software which should shut itself down when the PXI chassis temperature threshold is exceeded.

I wonder how would the PXI react when the PXI chassis temperature threshold is hit? Will it proceed to shut itself down automatically?

If so, how long will it take? (Speculating if I have enough time to take a temperature measurement with NI System Monitor)

Furthermore, how would the PXI react to other threshold exceeds - for an example, fan speed and voltage level?

Cheers !

Hi jack@nz,

What is the chassis where you have your PXI 8106 controller installed? For most PXI chassis, when the air-intake temperature
has exceeded the chassis operating range the power switch LED will start flashing green. It will then shut down shortly afterwards. Also keep in mind that the accuracy of Built-in 10 MHz clock on a PXI chassis is not guranteed after the operating temperature range has been exceeded.
