What's your favorite OpenG VI?

Recently, I started a blog article series titled "The OpenG VIs that I couldn't live without". So far, I covered the Variant Configuration File VIs, Resize Front Panel to Largest Decoration, and String to 1D Array and 1D Array to String. I'm curious, which OpenG VIs others find most useful. I'd be happy to include some of your suggestions in this series.

Thanks! smile.gif

Hi Jim,

As soon as I installed VIPM today, I found out the Delete Recursive VI in the OpenG File I/O pallette to be the most useful one for me.

I ll update here of more VIs once I explore the OpenG pallette more tomorrow.

bye for now.

Hi Partha,

Thanks for the feedback.  I'll add
Delete Recursive to the list -- I really like that one, too 🙂

And, be sure to let me know what else you find, once you've had a chance to explore the palette -- if you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them.

Thank you,

-Jim

Hi Everyone,

I've just written up "Multi-line String to Array". I've even thrown in a bonus reference to "Filter 1D Array", showing how to remove blank lines from the resulting array! smile.gif

Thanks,

I am using the read_ini_cluster.vi and one extra tidbit to add in your article is if you have a multiple section ini file and you label each cluster they will be easier to distinguish between when using the unbundle function

Hi James,

Yes, read INI cluster is great.  I didn't mention it, because I wanted to just get the concept accross without adding too much additional stuff.  I should probably write a short follow-up article about how you can use Read INI Cluster to read several sections from an INI file, in one shot.

Thanks 🙂

I'm just working on my favorite set of OpenG VIs 😉 They are not ready yet but I give you a hint; they are related to object-oriented programming 🙂
