Seconded, #1 is my favourite.

Have you made these? They're neat, I rarely have the patience.

I have to say that I like #2 best!  First, on my screen, I can't see the detail of any of the others to understand "what's special".  Icon #2 has big red Square ("Stop", "Danger", "Badness") and a clear "X" ("Stop", "Quit", "Exit").  Simple (especially if novel, and tiny) is Best.

Amazingly, when I put this question to my cow-orkers, one of them actually replied; preferring #2.

So with 2 votes for #1 and 2 votes for #1, I decided to try combining those two.  What do you think?

This is mainly red at my screen, don't see the x well enough.

And I also like #1 because that has the stop loop.

On the other hand why should you know that it is a loop? Just stop is OK.

It's to be used in a special case (reliability testing), where you want  the test sequence to loop repeatedly.  But you want to stop looping if certain tests fail.  The glyph will be used as a marker for those steps.  So it really means "Don't repeat the test sequence if this test fails".

I can just see it now...

"I've conducted an online peer review of the icon to be used, and it was decided that alternating yellow and purple stripes with a blue lightning bolt down the middle was appropriate for the 'Abort Sequence & Stop Looping if the step fails' icon."

Be careful who you ask.  😉

I like this one. I think that it does a good job at addressing Bob's concerns while also bringing the loop in.

Well, no, I'm not going to be careful whom I ask (but I might take any or all input with a box of salt).  I'm interested in hearing ideas that some people might think are crazy.  A decade ago I was in a wheelchair for a few weeks.  The one I bought was just black and I wanted some color so I asked my brother and sister for suggestions.  My brother said not to pick colors that are too bright, or it might look like a circus wagon.  I thought that circus wagon colors was a great idea (but I didn't follow through with it).
