Which packages of LV DSC 8.0 must be installed for remote database access?

We are trying to log data to a remote pc via a network share.

We already know that this requires the citadel services on the remote pc.

We installed the citadel product from the DSC CD. After restart of the pc we tried to

start the service %WINDOWS_HOME%\system32\nicitdl5.exe but we get the errorcode 1075, saying that the dependency-service is required.

What additional packages must be install to get the citadel service started?

LabVIEW 8 uses Citadel 5 which is very different to Citadel 4 not only in terms of functionality but also in terms of licensing as we are using some 3rd party components in Citadel 5. The short term solution is to install a LabVIEW DSC Run-Time-System license to the remote PC but I have also sent a request to R&D to clarify this issue.

I'll post another message to this thread as soon as I get more information.

Hi,

unfortunately my assumption was correct. Since Citadel 5 there is no legal way to log data to a remote PC without purchasing and installing a LabVIEW DSC Run-Time-System license on this remote machine.
This is mainly caused by the 3rd party components that are installed now and that NI has to pay for per installation. Please contact your local NI sales person for more information. You could also pass my name to your NI sales contact and ask him to call me so I will be able to explain the situation to him.
