While trying to communicate between Labview 8 and Simulink using SIT toolkit software 3.0.0. The "Tools»SIT Connection Manager" menue is not available in Labview.

Hi

Is this the first time you are using this feature since installing the toolkit? Did you shutdown Labview before installing the toolkit?

Hi,

Yes it is the first time using the toolkit after installing it. Labview was shutdown and the computer was also shutdown and restarted.

Thanks.

Hi

It appears that the toolkit has not installed properly or is not in the correct location. Could you check and try the following:

1) Do you have any other versions of LabVIEW installed on your machine? If you do, the toolkit may have installed in a different version. In this case you will need to install the toolkit on multiple versions of labVIEW. Look here for instructions on how to do this.

2) Does the SIT toolkit appear in the functions pallet? (It is most likely to appear under the addons section) If it does not appear, it would suggest that it has not installed in the correct location.

3) When installing the toolkit did you get any errors? Or did you do a custom install?

4) You could try uninstalling the toolkit and reinstalling it, making sure that you are installing to the correct directory (e.g. if you have different versions of LabVIEW make sure you point to the directory for the required version of LabVIEW). Also accept all other default settings, i.e. do not do a custom install.

Let me know how you get on

Hi

I've done some more research into your problem and it appears that the simulation interface toolkit version 3.0 is not compatible with Labview 8.0. You will need to upgrade to to version 3.0.1.

This readme file can give you further details.

Hi,
SIT 3.0.2 and Labview are installed in the Computer.
The SIT connections manager can now be seen on the tools menue but there are more problems.
I have been following the instructions on setting up the SIT from NI website https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000YFfRCAW&l=en-US
Whe I try to open abssingleclosed.vi in Labview I get asked for files I do not have like "RTFIFORefnum U8A.ctl" and more.
I ignored these files and when I went into SIT connection manager I was told that it needed to convert the model from SIT 2 to SIT 3.
Please see attachment for "print screens" of steps undertaken.

Thanks,

Hi

Was this vi created using a previous version of the SIT toolkit (i.e. version 2.0.x)? If you look further down the document I referenced in my last post there is a section called upgrading from SIT 2.0.x, this explains that the dialog you are seeing would happen if the vi was created using the SIT version 2.0.x and opened in 3.0.x.
