Why are recent projects not visible in the Windows Start menu LabVIEW sub-menu?

I am trying to understand why it seems that I have to go through the LabVIEW start window to select the last project I was working on (BTW,when will we be able to clean up this window's list - other than by editing the ini file?), rather than simply selecrting the project I am interested in from the Windows Start Menu (which is where I generally go to launch LabVIEW).

Is this a Windows limitation that only VIs show up in this list, or is there a way for me to choose what to show there (in my case, I have no interest in individual VIs and would rather have a list of the most recent projects I worked on).

Instead of the start menu I have it pinned to my taskbar.  If I right-click it, recent projects show up in the list... can you try that?

To clarify: I am using Windows 7 64 bit running in Parallels Desktop on a Mac and I definitely only have VIs listed in the LV 2015 64 bit menu. 10 of them.

For that reason as well, I can't really use the taskbar, as there isn't such a thing in Windows running in a VM in "coherence" mode.

But if I look at the sub menu of my 32 bit version of LabVIEW, which I very rarely use, I can see a project and a handful of VIs.

For this reason, I guess I should rephrase my question like this:

Is there a possibility to EXCLUDE VIs from being listed from the LabVIEW Start menu and only have PROJECTS listed there?

It appears that any VI I open (and I do usually open a lot of them during a session) will get sent to that list and eventually kick the source project out of it.

I THINK so.  Remove the extensions you do not want to appear from the list of default programs LabVIEW can open.  That would mean of course you must use the project explorer to open project items.... I wouldn't recommend it without seriously considering your normal workflow and how this may impact it.

Not sure what effect using Parallels might have on this, but it looks like the only way to do something about it is manually editing the jump lists:

Doesn't look simple.

I'd rather not indeed, but I accept that as a potential workaround.

Good find. It looks a bit rough on the edges at this point.
